Dorothy "Dottie" Grant Price, age 83, of 220 Gilmer Park, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007.
Dottie was born in LaGrange, North Carolina. She met her future husband, Joe Price, while working at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base during WWII. Following the war, they moved to Johnson City, where she has resided ever since.
Mrs. Price was the daughter of the late Laura Smithey Tew Grant and the late John William Grant.
She and her husband owned and operated several NAPA Auto Parts Stores for 28 years.
She was a long-time faithful member of First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Price was a loving mother who enjoyed her family, delighted in golf with friends and enjoyed community service as a member of Johnson City Junior Service League.
She was preceded in death in 2006 by her husband, Joseph Price Jr.
She is survived by a son, Joseph P. Price III and his wife, Liz, of Johnson City; two daughters, Betsy Burleson and her husband, Skip, of Johnson City, and Judy Price and Rick Fehr, of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Carrie Kerley and Kelly Kerley, both of Johnson City, Grant Kerley, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Trey Burleson, of Johnson City, Pfc. Preston Burleson, United States Army, serving in Iraq, Jay Burleson and Emma Price, both of Johnson City; one brother, Johnny Grant, of Hollywood, California; three sisters, Laura Tew Stevenson, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Jane Webber and Peggy Adams, both of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Mrs. Price will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 13th, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Mr. Kent Pettit will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 6 until 8 PM. Burial will follow the service on Saturday at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
