Services were Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Arnold Porter officiating. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ashe was born in Seneca, South Carolina. She was formerly a teacher in the Knoxville School System and since moving to Fayetteville in 1954, she had been a substitute teacher in the city schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James K. Wakefield Jr. of Fayetteville; sister, Mrs. Walter Kelly Sr. of Marietta, Georgia; three grandsons, Ben Wakefield, David Wakefield, and James K. Wakefield III, and three great-grandchildren.
