Mrs. Sarah Gray Blackard, widow of Carroll Blackard, passed away on June 9th 1958 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. R. Dungan, with whom she resided. Mrs. Blackard had been visiting a sick neighbor, returned home in her usual health when she was suddenly stricken with a heart attack. She lived only a short time. She was 72 years of age and a member of the Baptist church.

Funeral services were conducted on. Wednesday afternoon at Shady Grove church with Rev. W C. Hamilton of Tishomingo officiating and Cutshall Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Shady Grove Church cemetery.

Survivors, include 3 daughters, Mrs. (Pauline) William R. Dungan, Mrs. (Ruby) Dood Milligan, Iuka, and Mrs. (Flora Mae) Calvin F. Mendenhall, Memphis, Tenn., two sons, Vernon E. Blackard, Iuka, and Hershel L. Blackard, Waukegan, IL, grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, C. B. Gray of Blytheville, Ark., and E. C. Gray.
