NEW ALBANY – Mary Altie Beckworth, 91, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at Graceland Care Center in New Albany. She was born July 21, 1918, in Union County to Robbie and Minnie Greer Gray. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she kept the nursery for many years.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Foley officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Myra Lee Stonesifer of Lucedale; two sons, Randy Beckworth of Memphis and Alton Beckworth of Myrtle; one brother, Bobby Joe Gray of Memphis; five grandchildren, Miranda Gayle Beckworth, Connie Carnes, Mike Doty, Tammy Caldwell and Sandy Dean; and a large number of great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Lee Beckworth, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today. The body will lie in state from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
