Mary Sally Dobson

September 23, 1934 - February 16, 2014

Lizella, GA- Mary Sally Dobson, age 79, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014.

Mrs. Dobson was born in Macon to the late Tom and Sallie Mae Sutton Green.

She was retired from Westside Stone Works where she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary. Sally was a strong example of a Christian woman and a fantastic cook who especially enjoyed making candy. She was also a loving caregiver who helped whenever there was someone in need. One of her proudest accomplishments was not only returning to school to get her G.E.D. in her early 60's but being named Valedictorian of her class as well.

Sally is survived by 4 children; of Lizella, of Macon, of Guyton, and of Lizella; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, of Forsyth, of Byron and of Forsyth; 1 sister, of Macon; and 3 sisters-in-law, of Macon, of Lizella and of Jasper.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Edward Dobson, Sr., a brother, Harry Green, and a great granddaughter Kaleigh Dawn Byrd.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Lee Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

While flowers are accepted, the family has requested that any donations be made to Serenity Hospice, 1057 North Houston Road, Warner Robins, GA 31093.

Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of funeral and burial arrangements.
