Daughter to:

HENRY THOMAS GREEN (father)
(Feb 22 1858/ Jan 14 1929)

SARAH ANN MANDER (mother)
(Dec 23 1861/ Mar 27 1930)

Parents married Oct 22 1880, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Bessie married: WILLIAM MARCELLUS BEATTIE
on December 08, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

William's first wife (Rhoda Ann Watson) had just died on October 28th, 1914, at the age of 55 years old. She would experience black-outs and fall faint, up until her death.

Bessie took on an over-night role of becoming a instant mother to 13 children (which William and Rhoda had together). The youngest was Lucille Owen who was only 9 years old when her mother died. So, having Aunt Bessie as a new mother was not the easiest. In fact, Lucille would not adjust in calling her mother, when Bessie tried every way to fit into that mother role. Lucille was quoted as saying: "She was always Aunt Bessie to me! My real mother was gone and no one could take the place of my real mother." Lucille had many siblings, and it was Mae & Tom Stoddard and Ethel & Marion Brown who usually had Lucille over to their home. Living with her 2 older sisters, Lucille still had the influence of her own family.

There were times when Aunt Bessie was in that motherly figure to Lucille. And she had humor mixed in with it too. Aunt Bessie would sit down on the chair and because she was a little heavier than most, Aunt Bessie would take her flabby stomache and lift it up over her head. This would scare Lucille as she watched in wonder. However, Aunt Bessie got a kick out of it.

Bessie & William had 2 children together:
1) Raymond Deloy Beattie
...(June 24 1917/ Apr 27 2000)
2) Thaila Spackman
...(Nov 07 1922/ Mar 17 2000)
