Jessie Dorcas Bearden
Jessie Dorcas Bearden entered into eternal peace on Dec. 9, 2004. Born on March 8, 1918 in Harrison, Ark., she was 86 years old.
As a young adult, she worked and was raised on a farm with her family in Arkansas. They later moved to California where she attended Cerritos Junior College. Jessie worked as a nurse for 17 years at Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk, Calif. Jessie and her husband, Blaine, eventually moved to the Lake Isabella area in 1993.
Jessie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Norton of Mt. Mesa, and her son, Wayman Bearden of Buena Park. Survivors also include two sisters, Kathleen Crow and Mary Ella Rogers, two brothers, James Green and Don Green, all of Washington state, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Blaine Bearden, who died in 2001.
Jessie was a member of Mt. View Southern Baptist Church of Lake Isabella for 11 years. She was devoted to her family, friends, and Jesus Christ all her life. She loved her craft work and enjoyed reading as a pastime. Services were held at Mt. View Southern Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004. Burial was held on Dec. 14, 2004 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. Services were entrusted to Lake Isabella Valley Mortuary.
