Shirley L. Barton, age 66, of Back Street, Woodbine, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky. She was born on January 31, 1949 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Luther Gregory and Myrtle Smith Gregory. She was an Inaugural member of the Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years, a member of the Woodbine V.F.D. Auxiliary Bingo and a member of South Park United Baptist Church of Corbin, Kentucky. Shirley loved auto racing and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Barton Sr. of Woodbine, Kentucky; her daughter, Patricia Renee Barton of Woodbine, Kentucky; her son, Harold Ray Barton Jr. (Alice) of Rockholds, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Lyndsey Paige Barton and Levi Blake Barton; her mother, Myrtle Gregory of Woodbine, Kentucky; one sister, Wanda Miller of Woodbine, Kentucky; two brothers, Freddie Hoot Gregory of Woodbine, Kentucky and Marvin Ray Gregory of Corbin, Kentucky; special nephew, Carl Miller; several other nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the funeral hour on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The Funeral Service will be at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Duncan and Rev. James Hodge officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Corinth Cemetery.
