"Ralph L. Gretsinger, aged 20 years, died from a shotgun wound Monday evening. Coroner David Hauser gave a verdict of suicide though no motive for the act could be learned. He was employed by Dean Beardsley at Dean Hill dairy farm and when he failed to return from the barn, a search was made and the body found in the orchard. He was a son of Lewis and Lydia Lenhart Gretsinger of Ellsworth and was born July 18, 1918. Besides his parents he leaves a sister, Gladys, two brothers, Paul and Kenneth, and his grandmother, Mrs. Nannie Lenhart. Private funeral services were held from the Williams funeral home Thursday afternoon with interment in Ellsworth cemetery."
