Fannie I. Griffin, 92, of Rt. 2, Mannington, died at 6:10 am, Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Meadowview Manor, Bridgeport.
She was born in Harrison County, September 4, 1919 a daughter of the late Charlie and Goldie Michaels Harvey. Her husband, James R. Griffin, preceded her in death on October 31, 2005.
Surviving are three daughters, Gene Kinsey and her husband, Herbert, Louise Newbrough and Evelyn Griffin; one son, Okey Griffin and his wife, Sandra; five grandchildren, Barry Kinsey and his wife, Georgia, Brenda Kinsey, Mark Newbrough and his wife, Susan, Kathryn Hodgson and her husband and Ron, Michael Griffin and his wife, Julie; nine great-grandchildren, Heaven and Shannon Kinsey, Jodi, James and Teresa Newbrough, Shawnie and Molly Hodgson and Jonah and Noah Griffin.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Danny Newbrough; two brothers, Raymond Harvey and Ottie Harvey and one sister, Sylvia Garrett.
Fannie loved to bake, can and cook. She enjoyed helping others and singing. She loved children and was a good neighbor. She was a member of the Bridgeport Church of Christ where she attended whenever she was able. She was a loving mother and will be deeply missed.
Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, Rt. 19 South, Shinnston from 4 - 8 pm, Friday, where funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 7, with Pastor Ryan Curry officiating. Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery.
