ALICE LLOYD GRIFFIN
Grantsville – Alice Lloyd Griffin, 84, of Burning Springs, W.Va., died Sunday in Calhoun General Hospital, following a long illness.

She was born in Roane County, a daughter of the late Everett and Bertha Jarvis Lloyd. She was a member of the Oka United Methodist Church in Calhoun County.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Verda Bush of Middlebourne, Donna Chambers of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Mrs. Eleanor Wayne of Louisville, Kentucky.; three sons, Ralph Griffin of Burning Springs, Glen Griffin of Akron, Ohio, and Buford “Boots” Griffin of Canal Fulton, Ohio; three sister, Mrs.Gae McKown of Letart, W.Va., Mrs. Mallie Gandee of Ovapa, W.Va., and Mrs. Malcie Dawson of New Brunswick, Ohio; three brothers, Everett Lloyd of Belleville, W.Va., Harry Lloyd of Ovapa, and Joseph Lloyd of Tornado, W.Va., 12 grandchildren and four great-granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.V. Griffin, in 1970, four brothers, one sister, and one grandchild. (The newspaper referred to her husband as R.V. Griffin; I believe it should have been R.B. Griffin).

Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with the Rev. John Alfred officiating. Interment will be at the Cottrell Cemetery
