OROVILLE (Butte Co.), February 23. – Mrs. Louise Bendle, one of Butte County’s oldest matrons, was laid at rest yesterday in the Bidwell Bar Cemetery near her old family residence. Mrs. Bendle came to Butte County in 1855 and was for many years the only white woman at the historic mining camp. The pallbearers were: G.H. Rogers, M.S. Rogers, Ed Holmes, Andrew Holmes, William Foreman and Floyd Miller.
