Age , 83, of D'Evan Manor, formerly of Providence, a retired machinist, died yesterday at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence.

Son of the late Giuseppe and Rosina (Mancini) Grimaldi. Husband of Ella M. (Gilbert) Grimaldi, and the late Mary (Ricci) Grimaldi.

He was also predeceased by his siblings, the late Domenic, Louis, John, Gene, Anthony and Julio Grimaldi, Mary Pollins and Carmela Benway.

Mr. Grimaldi worked as a machinist at the former Atlantic Tubing and Rubber Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1968.

He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Alec Grimaldi Jr. of East Greenwich; two daughters, JoAnne Carter and Rose Marie Mancuso, both of Cranston.

Also survived by two brothers, Joseph Grimaldi of Warwick and Jack Grimaldi in New Jersey; a sister, Vera Montenaro of Providence; and 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Burial in St. Ann Cemetery.
