She was born in Florence, the youngest daughter of the late William P. and Sallie W. Grimsley. She graduated from Florence High School in 1934, where she played on the women’s basketball team. She was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Marvin Cameron; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert E. Cooper; a son-in-law, William E. McLeod; four brothers and three sisters.
