Charlene Marie Griner (Gillespie) was born July 23, 1953 in Stockton, CA, the elder of Maxine and Harold Gillespie's two children. Charlene grew up in Stockton where she graduated from high school and attended junior college. She moved to Fresno where she completed her college education at California State University, Fresno. Charlene married Christopher Dallas Griner in May of 1994 and settled in Penryn, CA in 2004 where she had plenty of room to take care of her animals. Charlene was a gifted communicator and made a living creating documentation that translated complex topics into straight forward language. Charlene was a deeply spiritual person, she followed a path of meditation and healing concentrating on care of this planet and the wonderful creatures that she considered gifts from God. Charlene gave her time and resources to several animal charities. She loved all animals very much and devoted a great deal of time to taking care of them. Beloved by friends and family, Charlene is survived by her husband, Christopher; mother, Maxine; her sister, Sandra, and her pets that she loved as family, Beauty, Beauregard, Lily, Matilda and Rose. Please join us in remembering our beloved friend and colleague, Charlene Griner at her Celebration of Life on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2 pm, Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95816.
