SAVANNAH - Ella Jane Griner Burgstiner, 91, of Savannah, died Monday December 8, 2014 at Azalealand Nursing Home. Visitation: 10:30-12:00 p.m. Thursday December 11, 2014 in the chapel.
Funeral Service 12 p.m. Thursday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Interment in Guyton Cemetery.

Ella Jane Griner Burgstiner, 91, of Savannah, died Monday December 8, 2014 at Azalealand Nursing Home.
She was born in Savannah, GA, and was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lafayette Burgstiner, Sr.; her parents, Ben Thadeus Griner and Ruth Smith Griner; 3 brothers, Ben T. Griner, Jr., Paul Griner and W. B. "Bill" Griner; sister, Louise G. Byers.
She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was baptized when she was 10 years old. She was very active in Trinity United Methodist Church until she was 16 years old, then moved to Guyton, Ga. After she married, she moved back to Savannah. and lived on Garrard Ave , and was an active member for 60 years with Wildwood United Methodist Church, which was directly in front of her home. She was very active in the Sunday School, the Administrative Board, the Women's Society of Christian Service, head of the choir for 40 years and did many other duties.
Mrs. Burgstiner had formerly worked at Sears Roebuck as a saleslady, until retiring from the Company. She was a member of Sears Retires, the Railroad Retirees Club, The Salzburger Society and attended the monthly meetings, as long as she was able.
She is survived by 3 sons, Bruce Lafayette Burgstiner, Jr., (Opal) of Jacksonville, Fla; Ronald G. Burgstiner, of Savannah, GA; Kenneth J. Burgstiner (Angie) of Rincon, GA; 4 daughters, Betty J. Brannen (Mitchell), Frances B. Preston (Scott), and Kathryn B. Lawson (Harry), all of Savannah, GA; and Shirley A. Carter (Gary) of Pooler, GA; a brother, Rev. Ted P. Griner, of Cartersville, GA; sister, Mary G. Stines, of Apopka, FL; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren,2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Azalealand Nursing Home for their kindness and caring for their Mother.
