Matilda Katherine Grundman was b: in Ash Twp., Monroe Co., MI, to Berthold and Katherine Grundman, both born Germany. She married Forrest R. Apger in Ash Twp.,on Oct. 25, 1893. Her brother Otto was a witness at her marriage. Her son Charles Otto Apger was partly named after this brother. It was a farm accident which took the life of Otto Grundman less than a year after he participated in his younger sister's marriage.
Matilda suffered the loss of both of her children at an early age, her daughter Silva in infancy and her son Charles Otto during WWI.
At her death in 1936 she left a loving husband and numerous nieces and nephews. Matilda had several siblings but it is not known if any survived her.
