Shirlene "Shirley" Anderson was born on July 16, 1953, in Carthage, Texas, the oldest of eleven children to parents Ola B. Pellum and Marcell Sheppard. She spent the best years of her life in Carthage, Texas, raising her three sons and loving her grandchildren. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 27, 2016 at Good Shepherd Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.
Shirley received her education through the Carthage Public School System and was a graduate of Turner High School. She was a loyal and dedicated employee at Genpack Industries in Carthage, Texas for 39 years. In her leisure time, Shirley enjoyed baking, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt, and a loyal friend. She was also a faithful member of First Church COGIC. Her friendliness and kindness to all people and her devotion and love to family is a tribute to the beauty of her heart and soul.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Georgia Bell Roquemore; brothers, Roger Allison and John L Allison; aunt, Marie Roquemore; uncles, George Castleberry, Levon Roquemore, and L.D. Roquemore.
