"Funeral services for Bert Allan Guinn, 68, of Mentor, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Pastor Ted Tate of Fairport Harbor will officiate the service.
Mr. Guinn passed away Jan. 26, 2015, at his residence.
Born Sept. 1, 1946, in Heidelberg, Germany, he had been a Lake County resident for 49 years, living in Mentor.
Mr. Guinn was First Mate of L.A. Charters, loved fishing, golf and cooking, but most of all he loved his grandchildren. He also enjoyed having a great time with friends and family.
He was the beloved husband of Lorie Guinn of Mentor; loving father of Lisa (Jim) Kondik of Findley, Britt Guinn of Euclid, Bridgette Beba of Chicago, Ill., and Sherry Beba of Mentor; grandfather of Brandon, Paul, Alex and Sam; brother of Jeanie Thornton and Vernon Workman; and uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan Arden and Anneliese (nee Rimmler) Guinn; and sister, Linda (Guinn) Swanson.
Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name are suggested to Toys for Tots Foundation, c/o Gift Processing, 18251 Quantico Gateway Dr., Triangle, VA 22172 or www.ToysforTots.org.
