GUIST DIES AT HOME IN CITY
FUNERAL TO BE HELD AT WEST
FUNERAL HOME TUESDAY; JORDAN
TO BE ASSISTED BY WELDON AND DAVIS

Samuel W. Guist, 64 years old, died Sunday morning at his home, 510 West Stevens street. He had been in ill health for several years, but his condition was not considered serious until two weeks ago.

Guist, with his wife and son, came to Carlsbad five years ago from Michigan. He was a painter and decorator. Mrs. Guist is a piano teacher here.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at the West funeral home by Rev. H.W. Jordan, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Mr. Jordan will be assisted by Rev. Henry Weldon, pastor of the First Baptist church, and Rev. J.A. Davis, pastor of the Assembly of God. Burial will be in the Carlsbad cemetery.

Guist is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Marie Guist, and one son, Glenn Wesley Guist, both of the home address.
