FRIONA - Rebecca Sue Borunda, 46, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, near Pecos.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. George William as celebrant. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home.

Rebecca was born March 5, 1963, in Spearman to Felipe and Estella M. Lopez Guzman Jr. They lived several years in Gruver.

She married Jesus Jose Borunda in Gruver. Later, she moved to Friona. She was a member of Saint Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona, the Catholic Daughters of Americas-Daughter of Hope No. 2567.

Mrs. Borunda was employed by Texas Boll Weevil, Mars Real Estate and Insurance and owned her own retail clothing business in Friona.

She was preceded in death by a nephew.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus Jose Borunda of Friona; two sons, Roland Herrera Jr. and wife Gloria of Denver and Matthew Ezekiel Borunda Sr. and wife Clarissa of Amarillo; two daughters, Regina Nicole Heredia-Williams and husband Bobby of Amarillo and Angelica Raquel Gonzales of Lubbock; her father, Felipe Guzman Jr. and wife Brenda of Grand Prairie; her mother, Estella M. Lopez of Amarillo; two sisters, Maria C. Grinie and husband Enrique of Pleasanton and Amanda Kyle and husband Dewayne of Round Rock; a brother, Felipe Guzman III and wife Samantha of Grand Prairie; 16 grandchildren; and three nephews.
