Lucy Arbelo, 74, of Herington, died Tuesday, August 16th, 2011, at her home in Herington. She was born on December 14, 1936, at San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Alberto and Tomaza (Feliciano) Guzman.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:01pm Friday, August 19th, 2011, at the Temple of the Beautiful, in Herington, with Pastor Edna Reyes officiating; burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers are Donny Arbelo, Jose E. Arbelo, Jose F. Arbelo, Richard Ortiz, Jesus Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Orlando Rodriguez, and Kenny Smith. Friends may call Thursday from 2pm until 8pm at the Temple of the Beautiful, 100 S. 10th Street in Herington. Family services are scheduled for 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
She married Jose Arbelo on May 14th, 1954, at the San Antonio Church in Isabella, Puerto Rico. Mrs.Arbelo was a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Arbelo and her husband moved from Brunswick, New Jersey, to Herington in 2001. She is survived by her husband Jose Arbelo of Herington, children; Carmen Arbelo of New Jersey, Luz Smith of Manhattan, Kansas, Jose Arbelo of Pennsylvania, Brenda Rodriguez, Maria Ortiz, and Donny Arbelo of Herington, a sister Matzimina Perez of Amboy, New Jersey, 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Pablo Guzman and her parents.
