She was a regular attendee at youth events, following her children and grandchildren through soccer, baseball, swimming and sailing, music, dance and drama. A 1960 Weymouth High School graduate, she was an avid athlete and played the accordion. After graduating from Bridgewater State College in 1964, she was a math and science educator in Kings Park, Long Island, and then a long term substitute math teacher and math and science educator in Weymouth Public Schools, under the leadership of her favorite principal Edward "Buzzy" Knight. She was a life member of Wessagussett Yacht Club, the Weymouth Heights Club, and a lifelong resident of Weymouth. -
