Donna Ruth Hafeman Consoli 1930-2005
Donna Ruth Hafeman Consoli died Jan. 25, 2005, in the critical care ward of Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Ariz. Donna was born Jan. 13, 1930, on a farm at Dorrance, Kan. She attended local grade and high schools in Kansas and graduated from Wilson High School in 1947. She graduated from the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita, Kan., in 1952. Donna married William J. Hill in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1986. During the course of her marriage to Hill, she attended the University of California-Northridge and received a master's degree in nursing administration. She subsequently served as assistant departmental administrator for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Woodland Hills, Calif. In 1987, Donna married Robert J. Consoli in Northridge, Calif. They moved to a retirement community in Sun City West, Ariz., in 1991. Robert died in Sun City West in 1995. Donna remained a resident of Sun City West until her death. While living in Sun City West, Donna was active in a number of clubs and organizations including The Sun City Nurses Club, The California Club, The Italian-American Society, The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, The Red Hats and Lady of Lourdes Council 1809. Donna received recognition of her administrative abilities when she was accepted into Who's Who and was registered in the Library of Congress. Donna's death is deeply felt by two surviving brothers, Gene (Betty) Hafeman and Bill (Jane) Hafeman; two sisters, Marjorie (Lemuel) Dilley and Patricia Henry; a brother-in-law, Joseph Purma, nine nephews and seven nieces. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gerry. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. MST Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Prince of Peace Church, Sun City West, Ariz. Viewing was Friday, with Rosary at 5 p.m. at Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, Ariz. Interment was at Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City. Great Bend (Kan.) Tribune, Jan. 30, 2005.
