Born May 7, 1932 in Baxter Springs, KS, she was the daughter of the late John W. Hagel and Helen F. Cooper Hagel and lived in Joplin her lifetime.
She was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
Marilyn was Roman Catholic. Marilyn volunteered for St. John's Hospital, Economic Security Corp., Jefferson Elementary, West Central Elementary and the Joplin R-VIII School District.
On October 13, 1954 she married Floyd C. Gooch in Joplin. He survives.
Additional survivors include five sons, John L. Lee and wife Lynn of Grand Forks, ND, David E. Gooch of Pensacola, FL, Paul D. Gooch and wife Kathi of Carthage, MO, Samuel D. Gooch and partner Michael Engler of Bayville, NJ, Mark W. Gooch and wife Gina of Webb City, MO; a daughter, Sherry Bradford and husband Dan of Neosho, MO; a sister, Elizabeth Cooper of Tulsa, OK; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda S. Roberts.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bob Simon officiating and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
