FUNK, Marie Frances (nee Hagel)

Marie Frances Funk (nee Hagel) of Calgary passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends from Prince of Peace Manor on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the age of 77 years.
Marie will be sadly missed by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Daryl Aarons of Chestermere, AB and Darla and Gerry Steele of Calgary, AB; daughter-in-law, Calli Funk of Nanaimo, BC; eight grandchildren Blaine (Rose) Barnes, Ryan and Kendra Barnes, Caitlin and Christina Funk, Jordan and Karlee Steele, Jason Aarons and one great-granddaughter, Addisyn Barnes, the newest light in her life. Marie is also survived by one brother, Joe Hagel; sister, Julia (Bill) Perks and three sisters-in-law, Pansy, Joyce and Theresa Hagel and brother-in-law Bill Saunders. Marie was predeceased by Henry, her loving husband of fifty-five years and their son, Greg, who passed in 2008 and paved the road to heaven for his parents.
Marie will be remembered as a very loving, kind, patient and generous lady who was always open to an embrace, idle chit chat or just simply being there to listen, never asking for anything in return….The kind of person we all love and admire.
