Esther Louise Hagel
April 19, 1972 - September 17, 2013

Esther L. Hagel, Rapid City, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Esther L. Hagel was born on April 19, 1972 in Rapid City, SD.

Esther graduated from Rapid City Central High School and was already enlisted in the National Guard. After high school she proceeded to further herself in the National Guard going full time and becoming soldier of the year. She was the most amazing pure person you could be around and had that smile that no one will ever forget. She had an addicting personality that everyone loved. She loved her job and the people she worked with and referred to them as her "guard family".

She loved to be outdoors camping, water skiing, snow skiing, and sitting around the campfire with her family was a favorite. Her favorite thing in the world was being with her girls. She was very involved with them, ranging from coaching to PTA, that was her hobby, and she loved every minute of it. She was an awesome sister and daughter. She always had time for family and made it a point to spend time with all family.

She has touched so many people in so many ways that we can't write enough about her. She will be truly missed, and her smile will never be forgotten.

She is survived by three amazing daughters; her cat, Dipper, and dogs, Champ & Katie; parents; brother and sister-in-law; brother; sisters; two nephews; and several aunts and uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 5 pm-7 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20 at 9:00 am at Fountain Springs Community Church.

Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with full military honors by the South Dakota Army National Guard Honor Guard.
