Violet Engstrom, 65 of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.
Violet Lorraine Hagman was born on December 23, 1947 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Emil and Katherine (Appleman) Hagman. She was raised in Thief River Falls where she graduated from Lincoln High School. On December 20, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gary Engstrom. They made their home in Thief River Falls where she worked at Arctic Cat, Northland Foods Bakery, Hugos Bakery and Gary's Bakery.
She was a member of Melo Lutheran Church where she was the food committee chair.
Violet was known for the best buns and rolls. She enjoyed sewing, baking, camping and spending time with the grandkids.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Gary; three children, Veronica (Allan) Miller of Thief River Falls, MN, Gary (fiancée - Jessie) Engstrom of Bagley, MN and Steve (Melissa) Engstrom of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Dakota Miller, David Miller, Shawn Miller, Lauren Trent, Michael Krans, David Krans, Jordan Beadle, Jacob Engstrom and Abbie Engstrom; five siblings, Hazel Erickson of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Rosie (Curt) Westlin of Thief River Falls, MN, Roger (Nancy) Hagman of Bemidji, MN, Duane (Theresa) Hagman of Thief River Falls, MN and Kenneth Hagman of Roseau, MN; mother-in-law, Evelyn Engstrom of Thief River Falls, MN; two sisters-in-law, LaVonne (Bruce) Seaverson of Middle River, MN and Maureen (Chuck) Greentree of Thief River Falls, MN and many nieces and nephews.
