The man killed early Sunday at a Highland Mills house party was Fredy Hahn, 32, of Monroe, police said.

Party host Sean Canty, 23, is free on $50,000 bail after being charged with criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment, felonies.

Woodbury police Lt. Arthur Abbott said seven people were at the Jones Drive home owned by Canty's parents when, early Sunday morning, talk turned for some reason to a gun owned by Canty's father, a retired NYPD officer.

Abbott said Canty went to the father's bedroom and got the Glock 9mm from a nightstand.

He brought the gun out to show to Hahn, Hahn's stepbrother and two friends.
The gun had a loaded magazine in it, Abbott said, and Canty racked it, which put a round in the chamber. Then, for reasons unknown, police said, Canty pointed the gun at Hahn's head and pulled the trigger.
