PJ: June 3, 2002: Greenhurst: Genevieve E. Anderson, formerly of 15 Mason St., Falconer, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday (June 2, 2002) in the Heritage Green Health Care Center. She was the widow of Lawrence A. Anderson, whom she married June 30, 1938 and who died Jan. 26, 2001. She was born in Caneadea, N.Y., the daughter of Andrew and Mabel Chamberlain Hale. She was a graduate of Belfast High School and had attended Houghton College, majoring in music, and was a member of the college choir. She had owned and operated A.T.C. Answering Service for 30 years, retiring in 1973. Following her retirement, she was employed as an evening receptionist at the Heritage Village Health Care Center. She was also instrumental in bringing the Kelly Girl service to the Jamestown area. She had been a member of the former Elmwood Avenue United Methodist Church, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Jamestown Chapter, the Mozart Club, and had been a member of the Zonta Club, where she had held the office of recording secretary. She had volunteered as a Gray Lady with the former Jamestown General Hospital for many years. She is survived by two daughters: Brenda Anderson of Jamestown and Cynthia Carmen of Falconer, a son, Larrie Anderson of Jamestown; and four grandchildren: Kristen and Bethany Anderson, both of Jamestown, and Jeremy and Jason Carmen, both of Falconer. She was preceded in death by five brothers: Laurence, Virgil, Harland, Richard and Robert Hale; and a sister, Doris Jones. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
