Mrs. J.C. Archer, resident of Ann Lake township from 1910 to 1924, passed away February 1, 1946, at her home at 501 Ridgewood, Minneapolis, at the age of 80 years.
Caroline L. Hall was born at Gouverneur, N.Y., April 16, 1865, where she lived until her marriage to J.C. Archer. In 1887 both went to Hamlin county, South Dakota, taking up a homestead and developing it until it was a productive farm. In 1901 she and her family moved back to New York state, where she remained until 1910 when another move brought them to Kanabec county, Minnesota, settling on a new farm in Ann Lake township. This farm was brought to a good state of cultivation and production, largely through her untiring efforts. In 1924 another move took her to her last home in Minneapolis, where on October 13, 1945, she celebrated with her husband their fifty eighth wedding anniversary.
She enjoyed good health up until the moment of her passing, which being so sudden, was a severe shock to her family. She was a loving, loyal wife and a loving, adorable mother, and a friend to everyone. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, one son, Frank, and a brother, Harry A. Hall of Hannibal, N.Y., besides many nephews and nieces.
The funeral was held from the Welander-Quist funeral parlors in Minneapolis February 3, 1946, interment in Hillside cemetery.
