Esther Adelaide (Hall) Berg, age 88, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, November 10th, after a lengthy battle with Emphysema. She was born in Pine Island, MN August 1, 1921 to Ella and Arthur Hall. She graduated from Pine Island High School in 1939. Esther married Lloyd E. Berg on May 21, 1949 in Zumbrota, MN. They moved to Omaha, NE and had one child, Sharon (Sherry) Jean Holst. Esther worked many years for the Mayo Clinic Business Office and retired in August of 1983. She and her husband were members of the Sons of Norway group in Rochester for several years. Esther and Lloyd enjoyed a full life together doing square dancing, going to a summer cabin up north and camping.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry, two grandchildren Chad (Chantel) Holst and Erin (Scott) Milz, along with 8 great-grandchildren (Aaron, Braeden, Chris, Hunter, Jordan, Nicole, Rylie and Tracy). She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Esther was a long-time member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Visitation will be at Macken Funeral Home Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
