Mrs. Ophelia Ash was born at Mooers, Clinton County, New York the ninth day of June, 1846. She was the daughter of Daniel C. Hall and Sarah Hall. She with her parents came to Minnesota in 1864 and was located on a farm in Manchester Township and taught school for three years in Freeborn County.
She was united in marriage June 13th 1868 to Elliott Ash and they lived for some time on a farm in Nunda township later moving to Manchester on the farm where she died. There was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ash two children and she died at the age of 74 years and 10 months and 6 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss, husband and two children, Ida Chamberlin of South Haven, Minn., and Leslie who resides at home.
The funeral was held at the residence with Rev. Koch of the M. E. church at Albert Lea in charge, and burial was Gracelawn Cemetery. The funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings were beautiful and numerous.
