Funeral services for Alta Brandvold, age 100, of Bottineau, were held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Officiating at the services was the Reverend Glenn Berge. Don Indvik was the soloist and Shelly Berge was the organist. Casket bearers were Bernard Hall, Frances Hall, Brad Trebas, Bob Brandvold, Joel Brandvold and Shane Brandvold. Burial was at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Alta Brandvold, a daughter of George and Etta (Pugh) Hall, was born on July 30, 1910 in Bottineau.

On May 9, 1934, she married Olaf Brandvold at Souris. They began farming in 1935 and in 1940, they purchased a farm in the foothills of the Turtle Mountains. They retired from farming in 1974. They built a home in Bottineau. Olaf passed away on August 10, 1999.

Alta was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. She was a founder of the Faithful 14 Homemakers Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and needle work.

Alta passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2011 at Bottineau nursing home.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Rafferty and her husband, George, of Denver, CO.; Loueen Meyer of Pahrump, NV; two sons, Orbin and his wife Betty of Apache Junction, AZ.; and Larry of Souris; 16 Grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Trebas of Bottineau; brothers, Archie Hall of Aberdeen, WA and Clarence Hall of Berthold, ND.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
