Nancy Cahoon, 71, Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of the Stanton area, died May 5, 2006, at the Mountain View Care Center, Colorado Springs. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday, May 12 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stanton, with the Rev. Marv Mutzenberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Stanton.
Nancy was the oldest child of Floyd and Hazel (Applegate) Hall. She was born in Seminole, Okla., on June 3, 1934. They moved to Stanton and she was educated there. She married Calvin Cahoon on April 1, 1951, and together they had seven children. Nancy loved the mountains and moved to Colorado Springs. While there, she did home health care for the elderly.
Nancy is survived by two sons, Mark Cahoon, Baldwin, Miles Cahoon and his wife Jolene, Bismarck; four daughters, Merylin Hintz, San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Sherry and her husband Dan Walters, Laguna Niguel, Calif., Sindee and her husband Bruce Berger, Hazen, and Linda and her husband Steve Price, Stanton; two sisters, Betty and her husband Lyndell Clark, Olathe, Kan., and Veronica Johns, Sedgwick, Kan.; and 13 grandchildren, Erica and her husband Adrian Najara, Fla., Cal Cahoon, Texas, Brandee and her husband Nick Dempsey and Gina Hintz, California, Lindsey and Kayla Berger, Hazen, Daniel, Lucas, Trenton, and Alyssa Cahoon, Bismarck, Cole, Evan, and Calla Price, Stanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Martin; her brothers, James, Floyd "Billy" and Robert; and one sister, Patricia. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)
