Date of birth: Wife of Elijah Baldwin given in pension application as 42 in 1820. 1820-42 = born 1778.

Place of birth: Marriage record says Sally was "of Dummerston, VT."

Sally Hall married Revolutionary War Veteran Elijah Baldwin on Jan 7, 1813 at an estimated age of 35. He had 14 (known) children from previous marriages, ranging in ages from 3 to 38. She bore Elijah two additional children: Epphina "Eppia" and Sally (Maria, daughter of Elijah & Sally Baldwin in this cemetery is probably the same person as Epphina (or a twin?).

The Eaton Genealogies show Sarah, b. 6 April, 1779; m. 1 Feb, 1808, Enoch Hall. and went to Dover, Vt. She married, 2dly, Elijah Baldwin. She is Sally-6, Ebenezer-5, Josiah-4, William-3, John-2,1 Eaton of Dedham. (John Eaton Alden, Daniel Cady Eaton, "Eaton Family of Dedham and The Powder House Rock" (Dedham, MA, , 1900), Google Books, p 49).

Being 35 when she married Elijah Baldwin, she may have had children from a previous marriage. Hall may have been her married name. She is buried next to Sally S. (Hall) Baldwin, born Aug 11, 1811, died Dec 5, 1832, the wife of Ezra Baldwin - son of Elijah by an earlier wife. Their being buried next to each other in a different cemetery than the Baldwin Private Cemetery where Elijah's other wives and Ezra's children were buried lays the foundation for a suggestion that the Ezra Baldwin and Sally S. Hall who married on Jun 11, 1829 were step-brother and sister. That could result from being the natural children of Elijah Baldwin and Sally Hall from previous marriages.
