HALL, Alma May - 83, Deep Brook, formerly of Lower Sackville. It is with great sadness that we celebrate the life of our loving mother, who passed away peacefully on April 1, 2007, in Digby General Hospital. Born in London, England, she was a daughter of the late William and Elsie (Canning) Brown. For a good part of her life, Alma worked at the Telephone Answering Service in Halifax and the Halifax Water Commission. After retiring, she enjoyed being active by traveling, cooking, painting, needlework and working in her flower garden. Alma was also a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Lower Sackville, for many years until she moved to Deep Brook. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alma is survived by her daughter, Ann (Ken) McLaren, Deep Brook; sons, Raeburn Hall, Lower Sackville; Bruce (Jean) Hall, Windsor; brothers, Stanley (Marilyn) Brown, Deep Brook; Peter (Ann) Brown, South Milford; sister, Jeanette (Vince) Schoenrank, Deep Brook; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Alma was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Vincent Hall; brothers, William and James Brown. A memorial service will be held in Peace Lutheran Church, Lower Sackville, on Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in Old Saint Edwards Cemetery, Clementsport. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Alma's memory may be made to Old Saint Edwards Cemetery Fund, c/o The Parish of Clements, P.O. Box 171, Clementsport, NS B0S 1E0, or to a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home & Crematorium, P.O. Box 239, Port Williams, NS B0P 1T0. Donations or cards of sympathy may be sent to this address or on-line at: [email protected] When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free, Miss me a little but not too long, And not with your head bowed low, Remember the fun we all shared, Miss me but let me go.
