She was born in Hinsdale, the daughter of Frank & Sarah (Hamblin) Squires.

She married 1st in Peru, 10 October 1882 Arthur Sherwood Wheeler. They had 7 children (Bertha, Clara, William (died at 1 year), Nettie, Arthur, Edwin & Charles)

Alice married 2nd in Peru, 19 July 1903, James Holland Hamblin, he was 12 years her junior. James was born in Belchertown, the son of James B. & Melissa (Watkins) Hamblin. He died in Dalton, 11 July 1908 at the age of 40.
