She was born Nov. 23, 1916 in Coal City, the daughter of Albert and Ella Spellman Wilson. She was a 1934 graduate from Coal City High School.
Her husband, Joseph Hanley, whom she married Aug. 31, 1935 in Chicago, died in 1982.
She was employed as the head cook at the Grundy County Home for 10 years.
Mrs. Hanley was active in the Friendship Circle and the United Methodist Women and helped with Hallelujah Soup Suppers at the church. She was also known as the ''Cookie grandma.''
Preceding her in death were one brother Albert Wilson and four sisters, Mary Smith, Emagene Vestal, Carol Haughtigan and Peggy Wilson.
