Mrs. Mary Hartnett Bossung, 70, an assistant tax agent for the Monon Railroad for many years, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital where she was admitted two weeks ago. She had suffered with the Lou Gehrig disease for seven years.

Born at Lafayette, Mrs. Bossung was a life resident of this area. She was a 1926 graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Lafayette Business College. she retired as assistant tax agent for the Monon in 1971. She resided at Rt. 1, Battle Ground.

In 1933 she was married here to Raymond C. Bossung, who is a retired West Lafayette fireman.

Mrs. Bossung was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She also was a member of St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary and a former member of Business and Professional Women and Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks.

Surviving with the husband are a brother, David Hartnett of Lafayette; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Schumacher of Bay Village, Ohio.
