Mrs. Opal E. Hartnett Adams, age 86, of the Weldon Community, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. She was born February 10, 1925 in Weldon and had lived the Weldon Community most of her lifetime. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Weldon Civic Club and was also a member of the Weldon Baptist Church. She was retired having worked as a bank teller.

Survivors include husband of 67 years, Charlie Adams of Weldon; sons, Charlie W. Adams, Jr. and wife, Mary of Lovelady, Gary Boyd Adams and friend, Amie of Weldon; granddaughters, Donna Smith and husband, Kenny of Lovelady, Pam Wooley and husband, Darryl of Austonio; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Katie, Taylor, Jordan and Joe; sisters, Atholine Adams of Lovelady, Yvette Freeman of Lovelady; numerous other relatives.

Preceded in death by brother, James "Bill" Hartnett and infant sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Opal E. Hartnett Adams will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Weldon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Weldon Baptist Church or Lovelady Antioch Cemetery Association, c/o Joan Little, 4846 C. R. 3455, Lovelady, Texas 75851.
