Katherine H. "Kay" Funke, 91, the wife of the late John "Jack" Funke died Monday June 8th at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family.

Kay was born in Holyoke, MA the daughter of Robert and Helen (O'Neil) Hastings and had lived most of her life in Manchester, most recently living with her daughter Jo Ellen in Coventry. She was formerly employed at SNET Co. and at the Institute of Living. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of the Church of the Assumption, Telephone Pioneers of America and the St. Agnes Guild.

Kay is survived by her children Bob and Deb Funke of Manchester, Bette and Leo Conlon of Wethersfield, Rick and Deb Funke of West Hartford, and Jo Ellen Katz and Gary Lull of Coventry; her grandchildren Tracy Funke and Scott Peercy, Abbey and Dan Sorrentino, David and Kat Funke, Katie and Fred Callahan, Russ and Lori Mayo, Rick Mayo, Sarah Funke, Sean Funke, Chris and Katie Yurko, Ally Katz, and Mariah Couture; her great-grandchildren Brennan, Lily, Reese, and Max; her sisters Dorothy Hastings of South Windsor, Helen Pesci of Fullerton, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother Charles Hastings.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (6/12) at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Assumption, Manchester at 10:00. Burial will follow in Hillstown Road Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday (6/11) from 4:00-8:00.
