Mrs. Dawson's life was an open book. She was for many years, a member of the Baptist Church, and lived a life consistent with her profession. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her and her demise means a great loss to her familly and friends.
Besides her husband she is survived by four sons and three daughters as follows:
Albert Dawson, McQuarter, W.Va., Howard, Farmington, Eddie of Clarksburg, Arza of Parkersburg; Mrs. C.D. Valentine, Elizabeth, R. 2, Mrs. J.D. Tennant, of Fairview, and Miss Okel at home.
The funeral will be conducted from the family residence on Franklin Street, on Friday, December 17, at 1:00 o'clock, with Rev. A.F. Monroe, officiating.
Interment will be made in the K. of P. Cemetery, with W.M. Pomroy undertaker in charge.
FIRE DESTROYED HOME
On last Thursday afternoon it was found that the residence of I.P. Dawson on Franklin Street was on fire.
Mrs. Dawson had died the day before and was a corpse in the home at the time. Several members of the family were present. The noon meal had been served and the women folks were in the front rooms and thought that some of the men folks were in the kitchen part, where the fire started, smoking; but the men had gone out when the fire started. It was under such headway when discovered; and being fanned by a strong wind; it was impossible to check it by the means of fire fighting at hand.
Much sympathy has been expressed for Mr. Dawson and family in their bereavement and the loss of their home at the same time.
