Mary Elizabeth Henschel of Bismarck, ND formerly of Princeton, died July 5 in Bismarck at the age of 72. She was born Oct. 17, 1917 in Greenbush Township, Mille Lacs County, the daughter of John and Grace (Sadley) Wetsel.

She was a 1934 graduate of Princeton High School and attended St. Cloud Normal School. She was a teacher in a two room school in rural Princeton. She married Donald Henschel in 1936 and they farmed in the Princeton area before moving to Bismarck in 1949 where they founded the Henschel Roofing Company. She was active in the company for more than 30 years.

She is survived by daughters Mary and Anne Ulfers, Beach, ND and Kathryn Doll, Vancouver, Wash.; sons Robert, Bismarch, Donald, Wichita Falls, Texas; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband and brother John.

The funeral was July 9 at Kaun funeral Home, Princeton, with Rev. Dennis Siebert officiating. There was a memorial service July 10 at United Church of Christ, Bismarck, with Rev. Douglas Roberts officiating. Burial was in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
