Mark David Herschell, 46, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at St. Vincent Hospice of Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born Jan. 9, 1956, in Marion County. His parents are Donald E. and Patricia Louise (Latimer) Herschell. He married LouAnne Wolff on Aug. 5, 1978, in Franklin. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Abigail Kay "Abbie" Herschell of Greenwood and Katie A. Herschell of Franklin; a brother, Donald B. Herschell of Thorntown; three sisters, Patrice Janette Reckley of Lebanon, Becky Caroline Bewley of Sevierville, Tenn., and Kristine Marie Calvert of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a 1974 graduate of Lebanon High School, where he lettered in football and wrestling. During high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and the National High School Who's Who. He attended Ball State University for one year, where he was a member of the football team.

He was employed by Clark's Appliance Sales and Service in Indianapolis as a sales manager for 10 years.

He was a member of Franklin Memorial Christian Church, where he was a deacon and served as president and manager of the New Beginning Ministries.

The Rev. Larry McAdams and V.L. Vawter will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Franklin Memorial Christian Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Arrangements are being handled by Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin.
