Prominent Real Estate Broker Succumbed to Illness of Several Months
John Hextall died at his home yesterday morning after several months' illness.
The late Mr. Hextall was one of the best known real estate men in this city. He was born in England and practiced law there before coming to this country. He came to Calgary about four years ago. Purchasing the property of Bowness he formed a company for its development, and was prominent in various lines of business activity in this city.

Funeral Of The Late John Hextall This Afternoon
After a year's illness, John Hextall, one of the best known real estate men in Calgary and heavily interested in the large suburban property known as Bowness Park, died on Sunday. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock from Harrison and Foster's undertaking parlors to the Church of the Redeemer, where funeral services will be held. Interment will take place in the Union cemetery.
Coming to Calgary in 1907, Mr. Hextall purchased Bowness Park, which was a ranch then and not nearly so valuable a piece of land as it is now.
Mr. Hextall was ranked as one of the wealthiest men in the city. Before coming to Calgary he practiced law in England.
Surviving him are a widow, one son and one daughter, Leonard and Violet, living at home, and a married daughter, Mrs. Shaw, living in Victoria.
