Alice Evelyn Adams, 81, of West Union, W.Va., died Friday, May 30, 2008, in Clarksburg. She was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Mellon, W.Va., the daughter of the late John Arley and Margaret Eddy Higginbotham. Alice worked in the garment industry fro 42 years, last working for United Manufacturing in Harrisville. In her later years, she worked at Carolyn's Sandwich Shop in Harrisville. She is survived by one daughter, Alice Ann "Tiny" McKee of West Union; two brothers, Robert Lake Higginbotham of Mellon and Byrl Wade Higginbotham of Harrisville; one granddaughter, Tiffany Brooke Jemison; and several nieces and nephews including one special niece, Crystal Burwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Higginbotham; and one sister, Artie Johnson. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Frank Simons officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
