Deborah was the daughter of Samuel Hill. The exact date of her birth is not known.

An intention to marry was published on 13 Nov 1755 at New Gardens Friends Meeting House [Chester County] between Deborah and Joseph Allen, son of John Allen I and Amy Cox.

Deborah and Joseph lived in Chester County until about 1774 or 1775 when they moved onto land Joseph purchased in what is now Washington County, Pennsylvania.

They had 9 or 10 children: John II, Eli, Samuel, Ann, Emey, William, Deborah, Joshua, Benjamin and Nancy. Church records show 9 children and no child named Nancy. Some researchers believe that Ann and Emey are one child: Amy Ann.

Deborah died sometime before 31 Dec 1800 as that's the date her husband remarried. She was the first to be buried in the new Mount Tabor Cemetery. The burial ground is located on land donated by Joseph Allen and it sits on a very high hill overlooking the Monongahela River, Fayette City and Allenport, near Rosco, Pennsylvania.

Details for this biography procured from "The Allen Family" by Lester M. Allen, Salisbury Printing, 1987.
