SHUSHAN — Janice Hillman Alexander, 82, of Shushan, passed away Wednesday night, Feb. 5, 2014, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 28, 1931, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Hazel (Lawrence) Hillman.

Janice attended Cambridge Central School and worked at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge for more than 50 years until the hospital closed in 2006.

Janice continued to work for both Cambridge and Salem Family Health centers until 2010.

Janice was a longtime active member of Shushan United Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and sang in the choir.

She was a member and past matron of Cambridge Valley Chapter No. 147 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was also the grand representative to the state of Kansas.

She was also an active member of the Cambridge Choral Society.

In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by a son, Keith L. Alexander.

Interment will take place at a later date at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
