Capt. Charles Thurston Hilton: Capt. Charles Thurston Hilton, whose death at Jamul, near San Diego, was reported yesterday, had been a widely known resident of Pasadena for the last fifteen years and was active in the Masonic and Elks' fraternities and in the Grand Army of the Republic. He was 78 years old and was born in Maine. Of his fifteen-year residence in California he had lived in Pasadena until five months ago and he went to his son-in-law's ranch at Jamul, where he died.

Capt. Hilton fought in the Civil war and was a member of John F. Godfrey post of the G. A. R. in this city. He was a member of the John Brown Masonic Lodge in Kansas. He was also a Shriner, belonging to the temple in Los Angeles. He was a member of the Pasadena lodge of Elks, whose members knew him affectionately as "Daddy."

Capt. Hilton is survived by the widow, one daughter, Mrs. W. A. Boucher, and three sons, H.V. Hilton, C. V. Hilton and R. T. Hilton.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Elks' clubhouse, 400 West Colorado street, with the members of the Elks in charge. At the cemetery the John F. Godfrey post will conduct a cemetery. All friends of Capt. Hilton, members of the Grand Army and Women's Relief Corps, Masonic bodies and Elks will be welcome at the funeral. Ives & Warren are the undertakers in charge. [Note: Hilton is buried at Mountain View Cemetery]
